Jennifer Wells Dickerson Enameling and Setting June 9th & 10th
Enameling is the ancient art form of fusing powdered glass onto metal using a kiln for firing. Enameling provides a way to add color and sheen to metal and jewelry, as well as other small utilitarian objects. The workshop will teach students the basic skills of enameling as well as some alternative techniques for adding interest to the enameled work. We will also discuss and demonstrate different ways of setting the enameled pieces into a type of framework to create a finished piece of jewelry. Students will have the opportunity to create a finished enamel pendant set into sterling silver or other metal of their choice. | Guest Instructors 2012
