Description:

Fuse, Sculpt, and add Dewdrops to create a Frame for a special focal bead.
Techniques covered include; Fusing large gauge wire, Sculpting, Texturing,
and adding Dewdrops.

Charmed Tapestries

Saturday July 9th - 10:00am-4:00pm 
Level: Beginner

Description:

Explore crinkling and folding sheet metal to create three-dimensional texture.
Using textured chasing tools, create patterns to ground the eye. Chase the metal to give it dimension. As you are working, you sense it taking on the feel of a tapestry.
Cut freeform charms using the texture as a guide or cut circle charms using a disc cutter. Connect the charms to the Keyhole link chain for an old world feel necklace.
The charms are not only beautiful themselves, but have great places to resin in tiny found objects. Explore various medium to color the metal.

Midnight Lanterns

Description:

Weave a cage to capture a cascade of caps and beads to culminate in a magical midnight lantern. Basketweave a bail that transcends into a cage. Texture and form caps to add dimension and facets. Stack caps, beads and spacers inside the cage and embellish for a magical midnight lantern that is sure to fascinate everyone!

Artist Bio:
Being a native to the Pacific Northwest, Janice is inspired by the organic forms found in nature, Japanese motifs, textiles techniques and the sinuous lines found in the Art Nouveau movement. Her focus is wire and metalwork. Her passion is becoming intimate with the subtleties of this medium and sharing these techniques with her students.

She teaches locally at Quiltworks NW in Bellevue WA,  and these beads stores across the country; The Beading Frenzy, The Bead House, The Bead Gallery in Hawaii, Crystal Creations, Creative Castle, Alaska Bead Co, Beads by Blanche and The Shepherdess.  The shows that you can find Janice at are; Interweave Press Bead Fests, Bead & Button,  Adorn me and BABE!
