10:00am-4:00pm

Class Fee: $200.00 + materials($70.00)
Description:
Learn the fundamentals of chasing and repousse for jewelry with this two day project based class.  In this class you will skip the tool making and messy pitch melting and get right into basics of creating relief in sheet metal with the ancient and versatile technique of chasing and repousse.  A custom tool set, sheet copper and several practice patterns will provide you with the necessary materials to transform flat, blank sheet metal into scultptural relief elements, ready to made into wearable jewelry.

This class will focus on how and when to use chasing (working from the front) and repousse (working from the back) to quickly and confidently create forms not possible by other means.  A tool set containing chasing tools, pitch block and chasing hammer, will be included in the tool kit.  Skills with a saw frame are helpful, but not necessary
