Description:
Looping Over Found, Recycled and Collage Items:
Using wire to do looping, students will create surfaces on rocks, metal, sticks, and collages of items to create unique necklaces. The instructor will provide a variety of items to loop over, and students will have enough materials and found items to make several pieces of jewelry. Copper, silver, and colored wires will be used to do the looping. This technique, once learned, can offer students a variety of directions.

Mixed-Metal Bracelets:
Using copper, brass, and silver sheeting and a wide variety of beads, wire, and cold connections, students will make bracelets. Basic metal and wirework are the basis for the bracelets, and each student will have enough materials to make several and choose from a number of techniques. Torch annealing, heat coloration, basic patinas, forging, wirework, and bead embellishment will all be covered. Working watch faces will be available to purchase, or students may bring their own if they are interested in turning their bracelet into a watch.
