Glass Bead Making

Saturday August 14th & Sunday August 15th
10:00am - 4:00pm

Location: The Bead House Studio

Level: Beginner
Class Size: 8 Students

Class Fee: $250.00 + materials
Description:
Using traditional glass-working methods used by the Venetians for centuries, we will be melting glass at a torch and making our own beads.  When you make your own you can add your own style to them.  We will be using silver foil and copper leaf, making hollow beads and using suface design and sculpting to make the beads individual.  When I teach beginner beads I always include a taste of the flowers and after the first day I tailor each person's demos to what their interest is.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Stephanie studied art in college and began taking as many classes as she could in jewelry making. Eventually she began making pins and earrings in a collage effect using paper, plastic, glass, fabric, and just about anything else that appealed to me. In 1994, Stephanie took a weekend workshop in lampworked beads with Kate Fowle (now Kate Fowle Meleney). By the end of the workshop she was hooked, and have been making beads ever since. The flowers she now makes have been evolving over the last two years. Stephanie has been showing her work at the Artrider Craft shows at the Park Avenue Armory, in New York City.

Please contact the store to register for a workshop.
