Artist Bio Victoria Hughes, under her nickname Tory, has been the innovator of exciting approaches to polymer and mixed media jewelry and sculpture for thirty-five years. Her award-winning work has appeared on the cover of Ornament Magazine, and in numerous publications. She has been an ACC exhibitor and shown in galleries internationally. Her imitative techniques changed artists' perception of what polymer can be asked to do. She is a popular teacher, devoted to individual creative growth, and has been teaching for 25 years around the US and Canada. Her recent volume "Polymer the Chameleon Clay" was cited by Ornament Magazine as one of their noteworthy books, describing her as a gifted author and teacher. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is developing new work that combines metals, polymer and stones. This is her first visit to The Bead House. Her hinging techniques for polymer clays were featured in Ornament in 2003. |
